The Wren is built for the job most bathroom lighting gets wrong: lighting a face at a mirror. Two milk glass shades sit along a horizontal bar and push light forward into the room rather than down the glass, which is what removes the shadows under the eyes and jaw that a single ceiling fitting always creates.

Milk glass is the reason it works. The shade diffuses through its own body instead of bouncing light off a coating, so there is no filament visible and no hot spot to catch you in the mirror. It is a softer, flatter light than a clear globe gives, and it is far kinder at close range, which matters when you are standing eighteen inches away from it every morning.

The bar mounts either way up, so it can run horizontally above a mirror or vertically alongside one, and at 5.5 inches of projection it stays clear of a swinging cabinet door.
