Description
The Vera is a slim stem holding a flat disc, and the disc is the whole idea. Light leaves the underside and washes down onto whatever the lamp is standing on, so you get a pool of warm light on the surface rather than a glare in your eyes. At 11 inches tall on a 5 inch footprint it takes up almost no room on a nightstand or a desk.
There is no cord. It charges over USB-C and runs off its own battery, which means it can sit in the middle of a dining table, move out to a balcony for an evening, or go on a shelf nowhere near a socket. That is a different kind of freedom to a lamp that is tethered to the nearest outlet.
You control it by touching the top. A press cycles the colour temperature between a warm 3000K, a neutral 4500K and a cool 6000K. Press and hold and it dims smoothly, so the same lamp can be a reading light or the last thing on before bed.
