The Tove Low Dome is a small piece of stone that lights from within. Switched off it reads as an object rather than a lamp, which is the point: it can sit on a shelf, a bedside table or a dinner table and look like something you chose rather than something you needed. Switched on, the stone goes translucent and the veining that was barely visible in daylight becomes the whole character of the piece.

This is the low one, 3.5 in across and only 2.2 in high, wider than it is tall. It sits quietly on a crowded nightstand, a bathroom shelf or a dinner table, and it will hide behind a stack of books rather than competing with them. If you want the stone to stand up and read as a small sculpture instead, the Tove Upright is the same width at 3.5 in tall.

There is no cord. A rechargeable battery sits in the base and charges over USB, so the lamp goes where the light is needed rather than where the outlet is. That matters more than it sounds on a dining table, a windowsill or a shelf with nothing behind it, and it is the reason a lamp this small earns its place.

Two stone tones, both pale. White is the cooler of the two with fine gray veining; honey is a warm cream with darker veins running through it. Because the stone is natural, no two pieces are marked the same way.
