Description
Sorella is a mushroom lamp in the Italian 1960s idiom, and it gets there with three materials stacked in order: a stone cylinder at the bottom, a brass sphere above it, and a wide glass dome resting over both. The dome is held by slim brass fingers rather than bolted down, so it floats a few millimeters clear of the sphere and a thin line of light escapes around the join.
Two styles are offered and they are not the same lamp in two colors. Travertine pairs a pitted cream and ochre stone column with an opal white dome: quiet, grounded, the one that sits with oak and linen. Blush Marble pairs a smooth polished rose column with a blush pink tinted dome, so the lamp glows warm pink rather than white and reads as the decorative choice. Both stand on the same brass sphere and the same brass fingers.
At 17.7 in (45 cm) tall with an 11.8 in (30 cm) dome, Sorella is a substantial bedside or console lamp rather than a small accent, and worth measuring for before you order. The glass hides the source completely, so the light arrives as an even glow with no visible hot spot to look away from. An LED bulb comes fitted in the E26 medium base socket and gives a warm white light at 3000K, so it works the moment you plug it in. It is not dimmable. Indoor dry locations only.

Light with no hot spot
The opal glass hides the source completely, so the light arrives as an even glow rather than a point. Comfortable to sit next to on a bedside table.
A dome that floats
Slim brass fingers hold the dome rather than bolting it down, so it sits a few millimeters clear of the brass sphere. A thin line of light escapes around the join.
Two stones, two moods
Travertine is pitted cream and ochre under an opal white dome, quiet and grounded. Blush Marble is a polished rose column under a pink tinted dome, so the glow comes out warm pink rather than white.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are the holes in the stone a defect?
No. Travertine forms naturally with open pitting, and the cylinder is cut with that pitting left unfilled. Small holes and hairline cracks are characteristic of the material, and every piece differs.
