The Saga is a faceted acrylic lamp that throws light in every direction at once. Cut acrylic behaves like cut glass here: each face catches the LED and passes it on, so instead of one glow you get dozens of small bright edges and a scatter of light on the surface below it.
It is cordless. The battery charges over USB and the lamp dims steplessly through three light tones from a touch control, so it drops to almost nothing for a hallway at night or comes up bright enough to matter on a dinner table.
Acrylic rather than glass is the honest trade here. At 10.2 inches tall it keeps the lamp light enough to move room to room with one hand and survives being knocked off a shelf, which cut crystal would not. Seven finishes, from clear and smoke through amber, blue, green and purple to a silver plated version.
