Primula | Floral Shade & Solid Wood Table Lamp

Primula pairs a turned solid wood column with a wide, gently flared shade, offered in two designs. The floral version is printed in a dense small scale pattern that reads as soft texture when unlit and lights up properly once switched on, at which point the print becomes the point of the lamp. The plain cream version does the opposite, staying quiet and letting the turned wood carry the piece. The wood is cut from solid stock rather than veneered, so the grain runs through the profile and each base differs a little from the next.

Either shade is a PVC and fabric composite rather than fabric alone, which brings two practical advantages over a plain cloth shade: it passes more light, so a modest bulb goes further, and it wipes clean with a damp cloth instead of collecting dust in the weave. At 16.9 in (43 cm) tall with an 11.8 in (30 cm) shade and a 5.1 in (13 cm) base, this is a proper bedside or console lamp rather than a small accent piece.

Two light options are offered. Warm white at 3000K stays fixed and suits a bedroom; the three color switch steps between warm and cooler settings from the button on the lamp, which is the one for a desk or study where you read during the day. The light source is included, so the lamp works out of the box. It runs on 110V-120V (US Household Standard) and is for indoor dry locations only.
