The Orin is a flat disc that sits almost against the ceiling, finished to read like honed travertine with its soft mineral color and faintly pitted surface. It is the opposite of a statement fixture. In a bedroom or an entryway it registers as part of the ceiling rather than an object hung below it, which is exactly what you want in a room where headroom is tight and the ceiling is already busy.

Light passes across the face of the disc instead of straight through it, so what you get is a low ambient wash rather than a working light. That makes Orin a poor choice as the only fixture in a kitchen and a very good one anywhere you want the ceiling to feel warm instead of lit. The warm integrated LED holds that tone without needing a bulb chosen to match.

Three sizes cover most rooms. The 11.8 inch works in an entryway, a landing or a compact bedroom; the 16.9 inch suits a broader ceiling that would swallow the smaller one; the 21.7 inch is for a living room or a primary bedroom where either of the others would read as an afterthought.
