Ninfea Flush Mount | Lotus Leaf Glass Ceiling Light, 11 in

Ninfea is a lotus leaf cast in green glass. The shade is broad and shallow, 11 in across, with a lobed irregular edge and veining that runs out from the center the way it does on a real leaf. It is not a tidy geometric shade and it is not trying to be.

This is the flush mount version. It sits tight to the ceiling on a 3.9 in canopy and drops only 7.9 in, which matters more here than on most fixtures: mounted close, the lobed rim is almost touching the plaster, so the veins and the broken edge throw their pattern straight onto the ceiling around it. That makes it a ceiling you look at rather than a light you look past, and it works in a hallway, an entry or a bedroom where a cord would be in the way.

Green is the only color it is made in, which suits it: the form is doing enough work without a palette. It takes one standard E26 medium base bulb, not included, and is built for an LED. A filament style bulb shows the veining best, since a frosted one flattens the glass. It is not dimmable, so run it from a standard wall switch. It runs on 110V-120V (US Household Standard), is an indoor fitting, and should be kept out of bathrooms and covered outdoor spaces. Some assembly is required, and fitting it is a ceiling job best left to a licensed electrician.
