Description
Morella is a floor lamp drawn as one long taper, a narrow stem swelling toward the floor so the whole body reads as a single sculpted line rather than a pole with a shade on top. A fabric drum sits square on the top. Because the drum is open at both ends, the light goes up and down at once, bouncing a soft wash off the ceiling while it lights the chair or sofa beneath it. A closed shade gives you one of those two things; this gives you both.
The body comes in three colors, walnut, beige and black, and the shade in two diameters. The 17.3 in (44 cm) shade keeps a tighter pool of light, which suits a reading chair or a bedside; the 21.7 in (55 cm) shade spreads further and holds its own in an open living room. Both stand about five feet tall on an 8.7 in base.
It takes one standard E26 medium base bulb, and a three color LED bulb is included, so the lamp arrives ready to use. Cycling the switch moves it between a cooler light for reading and a warm one for late in the evening. The switch is a foot pedal on the cord, which is the right place for it on a floor lamp: you find it with a shoe rather than reaching down behind the sofa. It runs on 110V-120V (US Household Standard) and ships with a US plug, so there is no wiring and no electrician. Indoor dry locations only: keep it away from bathrooms and any damp or covered outdoor location.

Light up and light down
The drum is open at both ends, so light goes up and down at once. You get a soft wash off the ceiling while the chair or sofa beneath stays properly lit.
Cool for reading, warm for evening
A three color LED bulb comes fitted, and cycling the switch runs it from a cooler light for reading to a warm one late on. The switch is a foot pedal on the cord, so you find it with a shoe instead of reaching down behind the sofa.
One sculpted line
The stem is drawn as one long taper, narrow at the top and swelling toward the floor. It reads as a shape rather than a pole with a shade stuck on it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What bulb does it take?
