Description
The Maeve is a flattened travertine disc on a slim wood stem, and the flatness is the whole idea. Most pendants hang as a volume that fills the space beneath them. This one reads almost as a plane, so it sits low over a surface without closing off the room above it. Useful over a dining table or a kitchen island where headroom matters and you do not want a shade in your eyeline.
The stone is the piece. At just under six inches across and only a couple of inches deep, the disc is shaped like a smooth pebble, and travertine being porous means each one pits and shades differently. The wood stem above it keeps the whole thing light rather than letting the stone dominate.
The LED is integrated into the underside of the disc, so there is no bulb to buy and no socket to match, and the light leaves as a soft even wash downward rather than a point source. It hangs from a cord that can be shortened at installation.
