Description
The Lova stacks three tiers of ribbed glass into a stepped silhouette, and the steps are what make it. A single smooth shade gives you one surface. This one gives you three, each catching light along its own ribs, so the lamp reads as layers even before you switch it on.
Ribbed glass is doing the real work. The flutes refract light rather than passing it straight through, which breaks the bulb into dozens of small bright edges instead of one hot point. Up close the texture is the reason to own it; from across the room it is simply a soft, even source.
The base is warm brass, which keeps the clear glass from reading cold and industrial. At just under nine inches across and ten and a half tall it suits a side table, a console or an office desk where you want something with presence but not height.

Layers you can see
A single smooth shade gives you one surface. This one gives you three, each catching light along its own ribs, so it reads as layers even switched off.
No single hot spot
Ribbed glass refracts rather than passing light straight through, so the bulb breaks into dozens of small bright edges instead of one glare you have to angle away from.
Brass keeps it warm
Clear glass on steel reads cold and industrial. On brass it reads considered. That is most of why this works on a console rather than only on a desk.

Frequently Asked Questions
What bulb does it take?
One E26 medium base bulb, the standard household size. Bulbs are not included. A warm filament style bulb suits the ribbed glass, since the flutes catch the shape of the filament.
