Description
Fiorella sets a pressed petal form glass shade on a brass fitting, a vintage silhouette pitched somewhere between an open flower and a lotus leaf. The glass is fluted in radiating ribs that end in a deeply ruffled, scalloped rim, so a bare filament bulb behind it throws a soft patterned wash across the ceiling around the fitting, which is most of the reason to buy one.
This is the pendant version. It hangs on a 47.2 in twisted gold fabric cord off a 3.9 in brass canopy, which puts the shade at table height rather than ceiling height, so it suits a dining table, a kitchen island or a bedside. If headroom is tight, or the fixture needs to sit out of the way in a hallway or a stairwell, the flush mount version is the one to look at instead.
Four colors, one size. Opal White is clear fluted glass, so the ribbing and the filament both show through it. Honey Amber graduates from warm amber at the top to near clear at the rim. Leaf Green and Dusty Mauve are the decorative end of the range, both graduated from a deeper tone at the rim to a paler one at the top. The shade is 11 in across, wide enough to read as the centerpiece over a table.
It takes one standard E26 medium base bulb, not included, and is built for an LED. A filament style bulb suits the period look better than a frosted one, and it is the bulb that shows the ribbing in the glass.
