Description
The Edda is a solid travertine shade hung from a turned wood cap. It is a small, heavy, quiet light: the stone holds the glow inside and throws it straight down, so it lights a surface without washing the whole room. Useful over a bar, a bedside corner, or a run of counter.
The stone carries it. Travertine is porous and tonally uneven, so every shade pits and bands its own way and no two hang alike. The wood above it is either a pale natural tone or a darker walnut, and the pairing is what keeps the stone from reading cold.
The three sizes are genuinely different shapes, not one shape scaled up. The 4.3 inch is a tall narrow cylinder that suits a row of three or a tight bedside drop. The 4.7 inch is a short wide drum. The 7.9 inch is a drum worn under a broad flat wood brim that overhangs it on every side, and it has the presence to hang alone.
