Description
The Bellora Globe is a fluted ceramic globe, 5.5 in across and 4.7 in tall, so it sits slightly wider than it is high rather than reading as a true sphere. Fine vertical ribbing runs over the whole body and stops at a small smooth disc at the base. Where the fluted cone pushes light downward, the globe glows in all directions, like a bare bulb with the glare taken off, and the ribbing breaks that glow into vertical bands so it reads as textured rather than flat.
It is the shade for a spot that needs presence rather than task light: a corner, a stairwell, a gap between cabinets, a run of three down a hallway. The shade is unglazed looking white ceramic, hung from a stepped brass socket with a decorative collar, a 3.9 in brass canopy and a twisted fabric cord that runs 78.7 in, which is long enough to drop through a double height stairwell without an extension.
It takes a standard E26 bulb, not included, and is built for an LED. The fixture is not dimmable, so run it from a standard wall switch. The maker rates the shade at roughly 108 to 161 sq ft of coverage, though with no bulb in the box the real figure follows whichever bulb you fit, and because the globe spreads light rather than aiming it a lower output reads softer here than it would under the cone. Buy the pack of two for a pair or a run. Light assembly is required, and it is for indoor dry locations only.

Light in every direction
The globe does not aim the light anywhere. It glows the way a bare bulb does, with the glare taken off, and the fine vertical ribbing breaks that glow into bands so it reads as texture rather than a flat white ball.
Ribbed ceramic on a brass collar
Unglazed-looking white ceramic, ribbed over the whole body and finished with a small smooth disc at the base, seated on a stepped brass socket with a decorative collar.
An accent, not a counter light
At 5.5 inches it is narrower than the cone and reads as an accent. One lights a spot; a run of three down a hallway is where it earns its place.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it big enough for a kitchen island?
On its own, no. At 5.5 inches across the globe reads as an accent. For an island, either run three of them or step up to the Bellora Cone at 8.7 inches, which is the only shade in the family wide enough to work alone over a counter.
